On January 26, 2010 Sun Microsystems faded into the sunset of the Silicon Valley skyline. Sun was merged, in a cash offer, into Oracle. Known for it's database software, Oracle is now a systems company with the stated goal of furthering Sun's legacy for world class hardware, software and open source projects.

Sun's ads around the year 2000 featured Network the Dog as your trusty and reliable analog to the computer network. Circuit Monkey was inspired by a National Lampoon magazine cover from the 1970s that featured a photo of a dog with a gun to it's head, pleading the viewer to purchase the magazine "or the dog gets it". So Circuit Monkey fired up Photoshop and the rest is history...
